Six different configurations make the DSP-1760 fibre optic gyro a highly adaptable, easy-to-integrate solution for meeting a wide range of navigation and stabilisation applications. The DSP-1760 allows the end user to combine 1, 2, or 3 axes of the world’s smallest precision fibre optic gyros (FOGs) within a compact yet robust package weighing less than 0.6 kg (1.3 lbs.). Adding to the versatility, two different interfaces are available: a 15-pin Micro-D connector or a 13-pin circular bayonet connector.

It is an optimal solution for ground combat vehicles that have onboard Remote Weapons Stations that must be stabilised for reliable on-the-move-operation.
Unsurpassed Fibre Technology for Diverse Applications
The DSP-1760 uses KVH’s exclusive 170-micron E-Core ThinFiber, the world’s smallest D-shaped optical fibre. By reducing the overall diameter of the fibre to just 170 microns, the resulting E-Core ThinFiber enables a greater length of fibre to be coiled in a fixed-size bobbin, thereby dramatically increasing the accuracy of the gyros. The DSP-1760 is well suited for platform stabilisation for land, sea, and aerial systems; navigation, guidance and control systems; and stabilisation and navigation for unmanned and manned applications.
